The PuppeteerEpisode 1 (Stage: 40002) Location: WARP Train UW-212 - First Class Carriage Jae-heon (Doctor?) Why hello there, passengers in first class seats. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon1" Jae-heon (Doctor?) It takes twice the monthly wage of an average person in the Nest to afford a seat in this carriage, I hear? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon2" Jae-heon (Doctor?) That means someone in the Backstreets would have to work hard for at least a year for it. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon3" Jae-heon (Doctor?) I’ve always had some pressing questions about WARP trains. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon4" Jae-heon (Doctor?) For example, what is the point of first class seats when the trip supposedly only lasts ten seconds? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon5" Jae-heon (Doctor?) I guess it’s worth the expense, after all. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon6" Jae-heon (Doctor?) You can sleep without a care in the world. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon7" Jae-heon (Doctor?) All the while the passengers in the carriages behind us are defenseless against the maddening tide of time, trying to overcome it through the pain of tearing their own flesh or the comfort of conjoining with one other. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon8" Jae-heon (Doctor?) I’ve always wondered what kind of outstanding technologies Singularities could be to transport people to any platform in only ten seconds, no matter how far it is. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon9-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) And now I get the gist of it after seeing how this train’s been going for about two thousand years. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon10-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Me? How am I staying sane, you ask? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon11-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Well, it’s all thanks to my fellow members of the ensemble. That hothead Elena and I’ve actually been here for only a week or so… Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon12-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Pluto says our consciousness can be preserved in stasis and unfrozen only when needed or whatever. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon13" Jae-heon (Doctor?) He says it’s magic and all, and welp, I’ve got no choice but to trust him. He’s my coworker now, all things considered. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon14" Jae-heon (Doctor?) In any case, I pity the fools taking this train. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon15" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Thousands of years of pain and suffering, and it’s all long gone from their memories when they arrive. They return to their ordinary lives like nothing ever happened after a status restoration procedure, isn’t that right? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon16-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) “Wow, WARP trains are awesome! It’s kinda expensive, but I can get anywhere in such a short time.” Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon17" Jae-heon (Doctor?) “It’s a wonderful world. We can go everywhere in the blink of an eye!” Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon18" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Uttering such remarks, they’ll blend back into the City life, completely forgetting about the hellscape that took place on this train. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon19" Jae-heon (Doctor?) The memories of trying to slaughter their own friends and families as all bonds were blurred over time, having lost themselves long ago… Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon20-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) And all of that is conveniently erased from their heads. It’s astonishing how Singularities are so uniformly appalling. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon21" Jae-heon (Doctor?) And yet you rich folks are scared of even that, so you doze off in your safe space for those thousands of years. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon22-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) You must’ve heard a word of advice from some acquaintance of yours, hm? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon23" Jae-heon (Doctor?) That you’d be much better off taking first class seats. Or some of you are already aware of the truth behind WARP trains, perhaps? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon24-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) That’d be ironic in its own right. You decided to take this train knowing what would happen. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon25" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Ah, in case a certain foolhardy individual or two are still believing that this train is broken or malfunctional: Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon26" Jae-heon (Doctor?) It’s not defective. This train is operating as intended. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon27" Jae-heon (Doctor?) You get the hint by now, don’t you? Strolling around in a completely different timespace axis for some thousand years, and when it comes back to reality… Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon28" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Tadaa~ It’s ten seconds later. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon29" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Taking long roundabouts through time, reduced to ten seconds in real life. Sounds like a perfect ride for people who are in a hurry, doesn’t it? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon30" Jae-heon (Doctor?) What is your “real” life, though? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon31" Jae-heon (Doctor?) The one you were living for some few decades, or the one you’ve been trapped in for thousands of years? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon32" Jae-heon (Doctor?) If you lost your memories and returned to your ordinary life, would it be a blessing or a curse? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon33" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Who cares, really. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon34" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Moving on, my biggest question was this… Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon35-01" Jae-heon (Doctor?) This box with T Corp’s logo on it, so shamelessly and ridiculously and nonchalantly on board. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon36" Jae-heon (Doctor?) I was wondering what this thing was doing plugged into the train. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon37" Jae-heon (Doctor?) But I could roughly guess why after a bit of thinking. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon38" Elena (Nurse?) The hell are you doing, quietly muttering lectures to yourself? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Elena1" Jae-heon (Doctor?) You’re coarse with words as usual. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon39" Jae-heon (Doctor?) I’m speaking to the couple of voyeurs who are probably watching us as we speak, of course. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon40-02" Elena (Nurse?) Oh, right. That was the plan. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Elena2" Elena (Nurse?) Being stuck in this train for a week really did take a toll on my focus. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Elena3" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Your acting was excellent. Were you an aspiring actress in the past? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon41" Elena (Nurse?) Maybe? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Elena4" Elena (Nurse?) Anyway, just carry on with what you’re doing. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Elena5" Jae-heon (Doctor?) How cold. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon42" Jae-heon (Doctor?) And it seems this disguise Pluto gave me has almost expired now. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon43" Jae-heon (Doctor?) Shall we get started, wealthy fellows? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon44" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) I have no hard feelings for the somewhat average commoners back there, but you lot make me upset, if I’m being honest. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon45" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) The way you try to squirm your way into comfort with money like the maggots you are agitates me beyond reason. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon46" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) Life sure is bizarre, isn’t it. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon47" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) You spend your hard-earned cash for a first class ticket to keep yourself safe and sound from the torture of time… But now you’re about to suffer something entirely else. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon48" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) You unfortunately run into the likes of us and meet a terrible fate. Just because you’ve taken first class seats. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon49" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) Yeah, right. Who knows, one of you might have been a piss poor sod who just so happened to win a ticket, hm? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon50" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) That’s what makes choices so mysterious and profound. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon51" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) I personally think there’s no such thing as choice in our lives. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon52" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) Someone is playing tricks on all of us, mischievously and sneakily. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon53" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) Staging an endless puppet show, attaching invisible strings to us. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon54" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) Now, shall we get started? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon55-01" The Puppeteer (Reverb. Ensemble Member) It’s time for a little puppetry. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Jaeheon56-01" Location: Inside the Library Roland (Servant) So that’s the ‘Puppeteer’, huh… Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Roland1" Angela (Library Director) It’s as if he were speaking directly to us. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela1" Roland (Servant) If he’s part of the Blue Reverb’s gang, maybe he knows something about us. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Roland2" Angela (Library Director) Could the Blue Reverberation be focusing on the Library, then? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela2" Roland (Servant) Possibly. I don’t know what he’s looking for, but it certainly ain’t gonna be normal. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Roland3" Angela (Library Director) What else could he be after, other than the books we have? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela3" Roland (Servant) The question would be what kind of books they really want. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Roland4" Angela (Library Director) Anyway, WARP Corp. is going to be in big trouble if the disappearance of every passenger in the first class carriage gets known by others. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela4" Roland (Servant) For sure. W Corp. might get involved with us at this rate. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Roland5" Roland (Servant) Was this part of the Blue Reverb’s plan… Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Roland6" Angela (Library Director) It would be intriguing if that were the case. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela5" Roland (Servant) Oh, I bet your enthusiasm will turn into disdain real quick when you actually meet that cuckoo. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Roland7" Location: Library Entrance Puppet 1 (Puppet) Gigigigi. Puppet 2 (Puppet) Grgrgrgrg. Angela (Library Director) Guests who cannot speak… Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela6" Angela (Library Director) Still, you’ve managed to come to the Library through the invitation… That means you must have some sort of consciousness, no? Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela7" Angela (Library Director) Even though you are puppets controlled by the strings above you. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela8" Puppet 3 (Puppet) Gygygygygyg. Angela (Library Director) I have no idea what you may be saying. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela9" Angela (Library Director) If you want to get the books as your puppeteer so wishes, you can go through that door. Audio: "ch5_Puppeteer_ep1_Angela10"
